So, as most of you know my husband is deployed and it really sucks.
It’s easier on me if I only hear his voice 1-2 times a week. I look forward to the calls, and he rarely tells me when he is calling. although, this time he told me he’d call me Sunday, and still no call. Usually if he says he is going to call on a certain day, he does. When he doesn’t call, it’s the worst feeling. When nobody’s husband calls, it’s even worse because it means they are probably on a blackout. I hate this deployment.

they are the worst days…not knowing if a call is coming. But I think even worse is when you finally load the kids up to go do something, then come home to a message on the machine! I saved every message he left over the 15 months he was gone! There were 55 of them.
I hope you get to talk to him soon. BTW, if it has been rainy or windy there, it knocks out the phone lines.

my sister is married to a man in the Navy and his deployments suck. He has been on over 4 deployments in their marriage and it is really hard. It got even harder when the kids were babies. They are going to Africa for three years and he won’t have to deploy at all which is good since she is having a third baby in August.

I’m sorry for my ignorance, but what is a blackout?
